What is ABTA?
ABTA stands for ‘Association of British Travel Agents’, the UK’s largest travel trade association for travel agents and tour operators. For over 65 years, ABTA has been a trusted travel brand that offers advice and guidance to the travelling public.
What is ATOL?
ATOL, or Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing, is a vital safety net for travelers, established in 1973 and refined in 2012. Following the unfortunate failures of several travel companies that stranded customers, the government recognised the need for a robust protection scheme. This ensures that when you book a holiday with us, you can travel with confidence, knowing that all our package holidays are ATOL protected. Upon booking an ATOL protected package, you’ll receive an ATOL certificate that guarantees your safety and peace of mind. However, it’s important to remember that ATOL protection does not extend to flight-only arrangements, hotel-only stays, or extra holiday services like airport lounges and parking. Choose us for your next holiday and enjoy worry-free travel!

Can I order a fight meal?
Where this is available, you can order a meal for your flight.
When will I receive my confirmation?
Where an email address has been provided, a confirmation email containing your booking summary will be sent to you within 48 hours. Otherwise, up to 7 working days via post.
Can I book flight extras?
You can book these at the time of your booking unless you are flying with an operator like TUI, who only open specific seats 90 days before departure.
Do I need a visa?
Customers are responsible for obtaining any visas required for their holiday. If you need clarification on whether a visa is required for your trip, information can be found by visiting the relevant embassy website.
Do I need a passport to fly?
Yes, even internal flights require specific photographic identification. As a standard we recommend you having a maximum 10 year passport (check yours now) that is valid for at least 6 months on your return.
Do children need their own passport?
Yes and may also require parental permission to fly.
Can I take medicine abroad?
You must check all medication with the country’s embassies. For example, Co-codamol is banned from the UAE without permission. All medications should be in their original boxes, with the prescriptions available.
What is my luggage allowance?
Luggage allowance varies by airline and personal choice. However, all our quotes will include the standard luggage allowance.
What is API?
All passengers must provide API details before travel regardless of carrier or nationality. We are happy to do this with the airline, but you may also submit them directly. We can accept no liability should you fail to do so or provide incorrect details.
How do I cancel?
A request to cancel a booking must be made in writing by the lead passenger. The best way to do this is by emailing the one provided on your Sunstar Booking Confirmation.
We encourage you to chat with us about alternatives to cancellation.
I am pregnant, can I fly?
Airline regulations state that after 28 weeks at the time of return, you must have a medical certificate to prove fitness to travel. After 32 weeks, permission to travel is usually refused.
How do I organise assistance?
Our team are experts at travelling with a disability so it is essential you let us know when you start looking or book so we can arrange all the assistance you will need for the perfect holiday.
What if I need help in resort?
Contact your local representative, call the emergency number on your paperwork or seek advice from the reception desk.
How do I make a complaint?
If your complaint concerns an issue in a resort, you MUST report this to resort staff. When you return, you can submit a complaint to bookit@goldenjoy.co.uk
We aim to respond to all complaints within 28 working days, although this can be delayed unless reported in the resort.
